STARBUCKS STARS...GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!

For those of you who have a STARBUCKS rewards card or Gold card and like getting things for FREE...I recently learned how you earn your stars. I thought it was like 1 star for every $1-$2 you spend....OH NO! You earn a star for every individual purchase, reloading your card with $(per transaction), and on coffee or tea refills. So there are some strategies that will work in your favor, if you care and if you have the time, but if you want to stay at GOLD level take notes!

So generally when I reload my card I put like $20 bucks on there-thus getting only 1 STAR...BUT if you added $20 in increments of $5($5 is the minimum), so 4 transactions...you'd actually get 4 STARS!! For you tea and regular coffee drinkers...you get FREE refills during your same visit and you have to swipe your card...so you'd get 1 STAR for the initial tea/coffee purchase + 1STAR for the refill!! AND finally if you have the time and the patience...lets say you're buying 3 drinks...It would benefit you more to pay for each drink separately then buying them all in one transaction. 3 STARS vs. 1 STAR.

Funny scenario...lets say you're making a Starbucks run for the office...4 people each give you $5(BECAUSE LET'S FACE IT, IT SHOULD BE CALL FIVEBUCKS!!), plus yourself, $5 more =$25 First reload your rewards card 5X with $5(5 STARS), next buy all 5 drinks in separate transactions. 2 regular coffees, and 3 teas.(5 STARS) Next drink all of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then get back in line and get 2 coffee refills and 3 tea refills, again all in separate transactions! (5 more STARS) 5+5+5=15 STARS...you're 1/2 way to GOLD status or maintaining your Gold status! All in 1 day and it only cost you $5 and a few trips to the bathroom!! Silly I know, but if you like their rewards programs and getting Stars seems difficult...make every transaction count!!

Picture my day: Glamorous Morning to Kickin' Dirt!!

My morning started out EARLY!! Woken up before 7am on a Sunday...NOT ALLOWED!! I felt like my friend Marissa, whose son was trying to win the record for most time-outs in one day...Lainey was trying to beat his whole day score before church!! AHHHHH So while I'm attending to some not so private business(at least not anymore!!) Lainey is holding pink glitter polish in front of my face saying, "peas MOM, peas?" As much as I hate to reward bad behavior, I'm not sure she's put the two together at barely 19 months old and I figured the bad behavior was partially my fault...she's bored...so I got cleaned up and sat her on the counter and proceeded to paint her nails...Fingers AND toes!! Then I wanted to have some fun...I saw an opportunity to take some cut pics. I let her put on pearl necklaces and try on my rings...then she grabbed my make-up brushes...And my mom thinks she's a tom boy...I'll show her...his morning she was ALL GIRL!! My sweet sweet girl...I can already see lots of dress-up days in our not so distant future!

Well it didn't take long to scuff up her pretty little nails...I've been wanting to go out to Madera Ranchos to visit my Aunt Lynn and Uncle Tracy...Lainey's GREAT aunt and uncle!! They live on a regular ol' Funny Farm!! Lainey's been too little and too young to appreciate it until now. This was a good starting age. She had a blast roaming around with the goats, Mia, John Michael, & Sherman, William the mini horse, titus the tortoise, Tucker the emu, the 4 dogs Ben, Bob, Daisy & ______...forgive me Lynn, its after 1am... Oh and all the birds, too many to name! We had a great time and enjoyed watching the sun go down...made for some more fun pictures!

FANCY RE-FASHIONED FLIP FLOPS!!

I wish I could take all the credit for the crafts I'm posting, but I have other bloggers to thank for some of my ideas!! I will however take credit for the Green Flip Flops I Re-Fashioned into one of a kind Fancy Footwear!! Talk about a cheap craft! I used an old shirt, thread, hot glue, fabric, and the flip flops were just $2.50 at Old Navy!! I had a great time catching up with my cousin Mariha. Trust ME...I LOVE crafting all by myself, but I love sharing my ideas with other people too. Even more fun when we're sharing giddy giggles back and forth as our flip flops come together! I started this craft while my daughter Lainey was awake and I was getting super stressed out. CONFESSION TIME...I put Lainey down a whole hour early so I could craft in peace and quiet! Don't judge!! You would have done the same thing!! Crafting is so relaxing once my baby is asleep! Well, check out these beauties and go get busy making a pair of your own!

So You Think You Can Craft

Well, my first Craft Night didn't turn out the way I had imagined it, but it wasn't a total bust. My really wonderful friend Bergann showed up and we had an amazing night. It was totally relaxing! Lainey went to sleep without a peep! We enjoyed a fresh squeezed vanilla lemonade(lemons came from Bergann's tree) bar with raspberries, strawberries, cherries, blueberries, pineapples, lemons, and mangos. YUM-O! AND...Trader Joe's salt water taffy. We revamped our shoes bye up-cycling them with fabric. All you need is shoes, paper towels, pen, pins, fabric, mod podge, sponge brush, plate, tape, and an exact-o knife....OR for the ones I made tonight...just shoes, mod podge, sponge brush, cup and lot of GLITTER!! Our shoes turned out so cute and they look like we bought them this way! I'm in love wit my new shoes!

TA-DAH!!!! Its so hard not to fall in love with these beauties!! Hope to see MORE friendly faces at the next So You Think You Can Craft!!(night) Mark your calendars, because I've got a great craft planned for Saturday August 20th at 7pm. Its relaxing, no pressure to buy, good ol' fashion fun!! Happy Crafting!!
